The prime objectives of this initiative were too aware and inform people on issues of climate Change and other environmental issues.
“In Nepal we have a tradition to play Duesi and Bhailo for the shake of entertainment. But this time we have come up with an idea to play Deusi and Bhailo on the theme of environmental issues.” said Mr. Manjeet Dhakal, Coordinator for NYCA, a forum of Nepalese students formed to involve youths in changing climate change.”Environmental issues draw little public attention. But Climate Change and other environmental problems have emerged as the biggest threat to whole earth. That’s why we are going use this traditional festival to disseminate information on cause, impacts and solutions to climate change and other problems”, said Mr. Dhakal.
The participant visited organizations, community and individual household for four consecutive days. During the program they promoted ways to manage household waste such as composting, recycling, use of electric vehicles, plantation and use of cleaner technology.
NYCA intends to use the fund collected from the program for noble actions on environmental preservation.
